New Merger as Sentara purchases Halifax Regional Health System

Halifax Regional Health System and Sentara Healthcare, parent company of Optima Health, have signed a letter of intent to merge.

Halifax Regional Health System recognized the strategic value of joining an organization with a not-for-profit mission, and commitment to clinical excellence and patient satisfaction. The certainty of healthcare reform and the struggling economy continue to foster a climate of great change. Many healthcare organizations are considering how they will continue providing exceptional healthcare in light of these challenges.
